LAUSD VEX IQ Coach Training
One or more coaches at all new schools are expected to attend Coach Basic Training:
- Saturdays, 9/17/22 through 10/15/22, 1-3 PM
- Review of important websites and training materials for coaches, 1-2 PM
- LARobotics.org
- RobotEvents.com
- RoboticsEducation.org
- VEXRobotics.com
- New: Digital Engineering Notebooks
- If your team got a late start, here are two ways to prepare for a league that is starting soon
- Build and practice driving a simple push bot and bring that to compete
- Build BaseBot: Build Instructions
- BaseBot is the base of Clawbot, the first half of Clawbot build instructions
- Add a structure to ram into the green bar of the Yellow Dispenser
- Add extensions on the sides of the front to help push disks while turning
- This one-hour robot build could be competitive with the Slapshot hero bot
- You could build the rest of Clawbot (except for the claw itself) in another hour
- The Clawbot arm could release disks from the Blue Dispensers
- Your team could finish building the robot at the event
- Your team would learn more and have more fun if they choose this way
- If this way does not work for your team, then switch to the other way
- Skip the first session
- Your team would miss the opportunity to observe the robots and driving strategies of other teams
- Your team would still be eligible to participate in the Teamwork Finals matches
- Questions and answers, 2-3 PM
- Zoom Meeting Link
